Adelaide Mandolin Festival
For the first time ever, FAME held a Festival in Adelaide!
Adelaide has no resident mandolin orchestra which is unusual given the number of people who have migrated to Adelaide from Germany and Holland where historically there have been mandolin orchestras for a very long time.
So there is no resident mandolin orchestra to actually plan and run a FAME Festival and that explains why until now there has never been a FAME Festival held in Adelaide. However FAME's Committee of Management decided to plan, organise and run the first FAME Festival to be held in Adelaide in the second week of January 2017. It proved to be a great success and it has stimulated the formation of a small mandolin ensemble called Mandolaide
