The 2020 Adelaide FAME Festival
The 2020 Adelaide FAME Festival was held at Aquinas College, North Adelaide, from Sunday 5th to Sunday 12th of January 2020, culminating in a very successful performance by the FAME Festival Orchestra (50 strong) in St Peter's Cathedral.
During the week of intensive rehearsals under the baton of Joel Woods, players performed several in-house concerts and attended some very useful workshops including "Getting a better sounds from your mandolin", "Improvising on the Mandolin" and "Early Mandolin Music in Australia". Other works included "Romanian Dances" by Bela Bartok, "Dances for the Mandolin & the Moon" by Richard Charlton, "Sakura Tonight" by Rie Muto, and several other works. |
